I've been a fan of Pokemon since I was very little. I honestly cannot tell you a time I disliked the IP. Even from my littlest cognizant memory I remember being a fan of it since age 4. From the franchise being a permanent fixture of my life, my favorite part of it are two specific Gym Leaders from Johto, Bugsy and Whitney.

I would consider myself moreso a fan of Whitney, or at least much of my online personality was that, but I do love the two very much. I began plainhiveshipping at around age 13. Before that, I was a Miakane (that's Whitney x Jasmine for you guys) shipper. And I still support that ship. But one day I sort of saw a piece of fanart that paired Whitney with Bugsy. And it sort of just felt... Correct.
